Deadlines Spring Term 2011

You need to know that the deadlines so far this year have been in place to help you manage your time during the course. There has therefore been some flexibility. From now on the deadlines given are to ensure formal exam board assessment/moderation procedures are completed.
They are non negotiable.

Feb 8
Last opportunity to work on Film Review Page in class. Film Review text or Film Review page print outs submitted this week will be annotated and returned next week for ongoing independent work only.

Homework Task
preparation for Evaluation question one : short film element
In what ways does your short film use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

1. Choose at least 2 specific examples from your film of your choices in each category below
narrative, character, genre,
mise en scene, sound, camera shots/movement and editing transitions)
= 10 specific examples .
2. Explicitly relate each example to the way you used (=imitated), developed (= added your own twist) or challenged (= did it differently on purpose) specific parallel examples from named real media models.
3. Prepare a presentation to the class which illustrates the examples in a concrete way, analyses the relation of each example to a real media model; explains what you wanted to achieve and why and evaluates how well your choices worked out in the final film.

Presentations in class. No exceptions.
March 1
Final deadline for completion of all elements on DL checklist (R and P blogs and Poster/Film Review construction) ready for assessment/moderation.

March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22, April 5
= 5 lessons and homework to complete Evaluation outcome to cover questions one and two
• In what ways does each media product (=film,poster and film review page) use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
• How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
